This year's sports day took part at Foilmore football field on the 2nd last day of the school year. We had fantastic fun with various races until 12.30. The emphasis was on enjoyment and not competition! The school childrenwere divided into 4 teams ranging in ages, classes and abilities. Each child had the opportunity to win points for placing 1st, 2nd & 3rd and this went towards the group total. The group with the most points at 12.30pm won! This meant that children of different ages and classes had interest in shouting for and supporting schoolmates they might not usually choose to team up with.
John Teahan arrived after lunch at 1pm and the children got to have a basketball blitz in the afternoon.
Teachers had stocked the centre's freezer with ice cream for all before home time but Éile's Mom had the same idea and generously arrived with more ice creams at 2pm pick up so everyone got spoiled! It was a very enjoyable day and we all agreed that the Foilmore football pitch and centre made was a brilliant venue for the occasion.
