Our School Activities

John Teehan is an experienced basketball coach who visits our school each year, to provide our students with valuable lessons in basketball skills. Our students  have the opportunity to learn from a professional and improve their abilities on the court. We are excited to have John Teehan as a part of our school community and look forward to seeing the progress our students make under his guidance.

Courtney will be back with us offering piano lessons at our school starting next year 2024/2025. We are excited to have her visit our school and look forward to seeing how our students will learn under her guidance

Róisín is a talented music teacher who shares her passion for music with students at our school. Her expertise and enthusiasm inspire students to develop their skills and love for traditional Irish music. 

Great news! Our school has taken a big step towards a greener future by setting up a Green School Committee. Thanks to our coordinator, Múinteoir Siobhan, we now have 8 green flags been awarded to our school.  Let's continue to work together to make our school and community more eco-friendly!

We  set up the Amber Flag committee to promote positive well-being in our students and staff in 2022! We been awarded one Amber Flag and plan to continue this initiative each year. A big thank you to Múinteoir Sarah and the amber flag committee for coordinating this effort.

PAWS has done a great job by setting up and organizing swimming lessons for all schools in South Kerry. This initiative not only provides our students with swimming lessons but also educates them about water safety. It's a great way to ensure that our students are safe and confident in the water.

Pierce's dedication to teaching GAA football skills to students in South Kerry is truly commendable. His efforts in organizing an annual competition between schools not only fosters healthy competition but also helps students prepare for Cumann na mBunscol and mini 7s games.We are grateful for his contribution to the development of young athletes in our community.

It's wonderful that our school has the opportunity to travel to Caherciveen and learn gymnastics skills at the community centre. Having access to proper equipment is crucial for learning and improving in this sport. It's great that this service is available in Caherciveen and that our school can take advantage of it. Thank you to Múinteoir Siobhan for organising this.

Múinteoir Sarah's chess club was set up in 2023. Students from second to sixth class have been participating and thoroughly enjoying the game. The club has provided a great opportunity for socializing and competing with other schools. We participate in online tournaments and also meet up with other schools for a chess tournament day in Killarney.

 Our school has its own poly tunnel and we grow a variety of fruits and vegetables. Thanks to our principal Mr. O'Sullivan's love for gardening, we are able to sell our produce in local shops each year. It's a wonderful way to promote healthy eating and support our community.

Our school has an experienced Irish dancing teacher who visits our school to teach lessons to everyone from Juniors to Sixth Class. 

Fiona Crowley is an exceptional Drama teacher who has been instrumental in preparing our students for their school Christmas concerts. Her dedication and passion for teaching is evident in the progress our students have made under her guidance. We are grateful to have her visit our school.
