Today, our students had a truly memorable experience during a visit to Valentia Observatory in Cahersiveen. We were warmly welcomed by Chief Scientist Mike and Electrical & Instrumentation Officer John, who shared fascinating insights into the important work carried out at the observatory.
A highlight of the day was witnessing the launch of the weather balloon, which plays a vital role in collecting data on atmospheric changes and helping us better understand our weather systems. It was an exciting and educational moment for everyone involved.
Following the tour, we had our
lunch at Westwood House, where we were treated to some delicious goodies, kindly arranged by John (Nonie & Padraig’s dad).
It was a fantastic day filled with learning, curiosity, and fun — the perfect way to begin our Easter holidays!
